Frankly this question can only be answered by you. There are some people who would feel that they cannot do without it while others think that it is just a waste of money.
Almost everyone likes a garden. It is only when it comes to having one that many of us have misgivings. This has nothing to do with the garden as such; just the additional work that comes with a garden is not something that we need.
We are therefore going to assume that you already have a garden. Garden accessories are useful only to those that do, and although they can be used even without a garden per say, we’re not going to debate on that.
A well-kept garden is a rare sight, and many of us actually spend quite a bit of money to maintain it. We may think that putting in garden accessories is like trying to guild a lily, and you may very well be correct in a number of cases.
Yet there are certain instances when having accessories will actually make the lily look even better. For example if you have a herbaceous area with plants that do not flower, just installing a pollard light strategically in the middle will give it a whole different look.
Or an earthen urn placed in a small lawn will improve the whole tone of the area. A simple solar powered fountain (if you choose the right color) will brighten up the drab greenery of a hedge.
A few bird houses hung strategically here and there too will give the place a different look. They may not attract birds, but then they’re meant more to attract people than birds.
And you don’t even have to spend a lot of money to buy the really impressive looking stuff that you see in magazines. A solar powered fountain costs less than $50, and a solar powered pollard light around $15. Why, you don’t even have to spend any money. If you know a place where you can get smooth pebbles of different sizes, you can construct your own rockery and you wouldn’t have spent anything other than time on it.
As every gardener knows, it isn’t the money that you spend on your garden that makes the plants grow well; it is the amount of time that you spend in it. Even when it comes to garden accessories, it is the same. Spending a lot of money will only make it look like a hotel. A self-maintained garden has a whole different look and cannot be replicated.
