White Chandelier

When you are looking at different lighting systems for your home, there are a number of things that you can choose from. Starting from the simple flush mounted ceiling lamp to the very ornate chandelier the choices are endless.

Before starting out on making your purchase however it would be a good idea to decide for yourself what kind of a lighting theme you want for your home. For example starting from the outside you will have to figure out exactly what kind of lighting should go where even before you set out for your purchasing. The best way to do this is to go and search online because you can find out the different options that you have for each room and each fixture.

Thus for the outside you can look through the different designs and their prices for outside lights while for the inside you have the option of choosing between ceiling and wall fixtures. Although the kind of lighting that you want to set up for your home is yours there are a few things that are generally practiced that might help you when it comes to choosing the kind of fitting that you want.

Since the outside lights are usually a reflection of the inside you could choose good quality weather proof lights like a couple of wall sconces for your doorway. Having a semi flush ceiling light is also a good option here. As soon as you step inside your front door the hall is the first place that any guest gets a sight of. For this reason the hall is very impressively if not brightly lighted. The usual practice is to put up a chandelier here because they are the most imposing when it comes to light fixtures. There are various choices and most people prefer a white chandelier or, perhaps, a crystal chandelier here.

For the living room you can be a little more comfortable in your choice of light fixtures and the usual practice is to install one central ceiling fixture with a few wall fixtures dotting the walls. A variation would be to offset the ceiling fixture to one side and install the wall fixtures on the other. This gives the option of having bright ceiling light and dim wall lights in the same room. This will only work with the slightly smaller rooms because if the room is very big an offset ceiling light is not going to light up the entire room.

Once again you could go with a white chandelier or a semi flush light for your ceiling, and a couple of pendent shaped ones for the wall fixtures. Your bedroom needs more mood lighting and having a couple of table lamps is more than sufficient. You don’t even need a ceiling light and as long as you have at least one or two wall lights to go with your bedside lamps you are good. The bathrooms need bright light and recessed ceiling lights are the best here.

There are a number of variations on the same theme that you can play around with, for example you could have a couple of wall fixed spot lights pointing to different parts of your ceiling so that your room can be lit by the backwash instead of going with sconces or any other lights for your living room. The trick is to figure what kind of a setting you want and then look for the best lighting fixtures that will give you this effect. If for instance you want to impress your guests there is nothing like maybe an expensive candelabra or a crystal white chandelier to do the trick. Spending a little time and thinking it through is the best way, you will save yourself a lot of effort and money that way.
