Solar Garden Lights

If you have some space around your house, making it a pleasant spot for you and your family to spend pleasant evenings is a good idea. You do not have to think of the elaborate gardens that some houses have…a simple lawn with a beach umbrella and a few chairs would suffice most of the time. At such times unless you have a high output lamp, the light will not be sufficient. An alternative to using one high intensity lamp is to use a couple or more low intensity garden lights strategically placed around your yard.

The disadvantages with these lamps are that you will have wires snaking all over the place. Concealing the wires may be a good idea but a little expensive, because unless done properly using good quality wires and proper direct-bury type wiring, you will get all sorts of problems, this will entail an additional cost and when you finally add everything up, you will just drop it and go for a single lamp that you can mount on the wall of your house. Even if you pitch for concealed wiring, it is not going to be easy for you to shift these lights if you want to after some time.

The easiest way to solve this problem is to use Solar Garden Lights. These lights are powered by solar cells and therefore do not need any electricity. Gone is the headache with wires, but if you think that they are going to correspondingly increase in expense, think again. These lamps start off at just $15 to $20 and go upwards depending on the specifications that you want. Most of these lamps come with a battery attachment that gets charged during the day and allows the lamp to burn at night. Depending on the amount of money you want to spend you will get more fancy looking lamps with batteries that last longer.

There are traditional lantern like lamps with the solar cells placed on top that give off sufficient light for a few yards around it. There are other large ball-like lighting systems that burn with different colors. There are statues that glow with different colors with some giving out more than seven different colors. The solar cells for these are mounted in such a way as to not be visible except to the very discerning eye. You can even get spot lights for those who want to focus their light on some particular portion of their garden and stainless steel lights that you can bury on either side of your driveway to give it the look of an airplane runway.

These lights are mostly very cheap, and it might be a good idea to check online for them because some of them offer great discounts that go up to 25% on cost. Purchases are usually shipped free if you meet the minimum purchase amount on these sites. Even if you prefer directly buying them, knowing the prices will help you to get a good bargain on whatever you buy.

Gone are the days when installing lights on your gate-post, along your driveway, or in your garden was a very cumbersome and expensive procedure. You need not break your head and your wallet to install a superb looking light to light up your driveway only to find it conking off at the first sign of rains. Solar garden lights have made it possible to beautify the outside of your house as much as the inside, without the attending problems. Their cheap price make it possible for you to give your house a makeover twice or thrice a year if you want to and/or add to the existing lighting you’ve installed.
